TOKIO HOTEL TILL SVERIGE I HÖST?

Denna lilla lilla artikel postades i Aftonbladet idag 30/4

Artikeln, översatt av Beertje_86 @ THUS
For a while now the tokio hotel fans have been confused: Has got drummer Gustav a tattoo or not? Now it is out:
he has one! And two right away! Exclusive in the Bravo Gustav shows his huge back tattoo and a small one on the arm. And now? The one that always claimed in interviews that he would never take a tattoo?! "secretly I always have thought about it", he admits. "but I was waiting for the perfect image. First I wanted two birds on my shoulder, with a wreath and a sword in there beak. But what kind of mini sword would that be?" the drummer laughs. Then finally my saving came: "I met this really good tattoo guy and told him about my birds-with sword-problem. After that he send me some sketches". The 19 year old liked them so much, that he even before the rehearsals of the 1000 hotels European tour had finished in February, runt into the tattoo studio to have them done!
"It was really spontaneous, two people from our team went along with me. I didn't tell the others at first", he smiles. Seven hours is how long his first tattoo took: four hours for the lines, three hours for the shades and even after that: "It still isn't totally ready". The star tattoo on his arm went quicker. "That only took two and a half hours", Gustav tells. Did it hurt? "Ow yes, it was really painful! The one on his back was especially painful"; according to Gustav. "We had to pause constantly. To stand all the pain I was most of the time biting on my own shirt". But the suffering paid of. On Gusty's back you can now see two wings, a sword and a wreath.

And what does the artist want to say with that?
"The wings stand for freedom. The sword is for all the bad things that have happened to me - or maybe will even happen in the future. The wreath stands for all the good things and positive achievements : the happiness with the band and my family for example", Gustav explains. Off all people his family was the one that had to get used to the piece of "body jewellery": "My parents were always against tattoo's. That's why I didn't tell them anything, when I was getting my star on my arm done. But now they like it."

And what do the other tokio hotel rockers say?
"They really like it: Bill has gone through the pain himself. He immediately has taken a good look at it. Only Tom warned me: "Man, you know that will never come off?!" Though, that won't shock the drummer - contrary: he just got a taste for it and wants more tattoo's: "I will definitely take one more, but what, I won't tell yet", Now Gustav is preparing for the trip to the USA. Bill has recovered well from his vocal cord surgery: "during his vocal rehabilitation he is singing his own songs again - and is accompanied on the Guitar by Tom", band manager David Jost tells. How it looks now the band will be on a plane to the USA on 1 May.

<3
I övermorgon flyger dem till USA, good luck boys!

He says: "Hey, people, it's me, Bill. I wanted to say thank you again for the support you have given
me when I was with my voice. "

He continued: "I am looking forward especially that we Germany concert in Dortmund as possible."
The concert is there on 13 June on the stage.

About morning break "Tokio Hotel" to a trip to America.
They represent the U.S. fans their CD "Scream" ( "Scream"), who are from the second week in

ENDAST 1 KONSERT I USA

ställa in ett flertal konserter. Nu vill deras management inte riskera någonting och därför
har bara 1 av de inställda konserterna i USA fått ett nytt datum, 13 maj rockar Tokio Hotel på
Klubben "Avalon" i Los Angeles.

INTERVJU MED TH (DREAM UP)

Även denna artikeln kommer ifrån den franska tidiningen Dream Up
Tack till Seipth @ THA

BILL KAULITZ
"My dream has been ruined!"

Brutallly condemned to silence for health reasons, Tokio Hotel's singer had to cancel the concerts, awaited by thousands of fans. Sick but combative, Bill recalls this painful trial in an exclusive interview conducted by e-mail.

What message would like to send to the fans who are concerned about your health?

First of all, I want te reassure them and tell that I'm fine. The operation lasted only a few hours and was not anything unusual for surgeons who took care of me. I read a lot of frightening stories about this surgery: people sometimes have really a great imagination! I believe fans were worried after the publication of these pieces of information, sometimes fake and often exaggerated. Now I'm in convalescence and I have to rest.

Is this the first time that you undergo this kind of surgery?
Of this kind, yes. So far I never had such serious problems with my voice, so this operation to the larynx was the very first one. And I also hope it'll be the last one...

How did the operation end up?
Very well, although I was terribly scared. Fortunately, the margin of error for this kind of surgery is minimal. I was operatedwith a laser, under anaesthesia. The following days I felt very tired, but soon I was on my feet again.

The reason is: bad luck or excessive work?

It might be a little of both... My state is explained by the accumulation of several factors: a little fatigue, that's true, a cold that dragged out and, to be honest, a lot of recklessness!

What medical instructions are you following to heal more quickly?
Doctors ordered me to rest! I take some medicine to promote the healing of my throat and I also take some anti-inflammatory drugs. At the same time, I must avoid to eat some kinds of food, specially dairy products. I drink a lot, I keep myself warm and I avoid talking too much. Since I am so chatty, that's not easy for me!

What feelings did you have when you faced this painful trial?
I felt a sense of injustice, anger and even a little resignation. At the beginning, I was really mad! We had to cancel dates twice because of my voice! This tour had to go through all the European countries where the group was called for. It was the realization of a wonderful dream. It was interrupted because of my voice. I thought a lot to all our fans who were disappointed because they could not be at our concerts. In time, I resigned myself and I accepted the fatality. Little consolation: most of the cancelled dates will be rescheduled for this summer.

What did you learn from this?

From now on I will have to pay more attention to my vocal chords. Before every performance, I'll force myself to to do exercises to warm up the voice.

In whom did you take comfort?

I was lucky to be supported so much in this period. The band members helped me a lot, as well as our team. Moreover, messages sent by fans helped me to hang on and they increased tenfold my desire to heal as soon as possible.

What are you doing during your days of convalescence?
To be honest, I'm a little bored because we went from a frenetic pace to a dull daily life... I watch tv, listen to music and sleep.

Do you take advantage of your free time to write lyrics for next songs?
Yes, I'm writing a lot for our next album. For example, this free time allows me to complete some lyrics that I scribbled here and there. The biggest frustration is that I cannot sing them right now. I'm looking forward to healing completely.

CONFIDENCE

During the long period of convalescence in which he was forbidden to pronounce any word, poor Bill had time to devise one thousand scenarios, sometimes dramatic. He also imagined to lose his voice permanently and to be no longer able to sing. Anyway, since he is never short of good ideas, Bill asked his twin brother Tom to replace him at the microphone.

--------

TOM KAULITZ
"Criticisms are useful to move forward..."

Since his return from the United States, Tom has had his head in the clouds! Tokio Hotel' first concert beyond the Atlantic have conquered the audience and even the blasts published by some medias didn't spoil his good mood. Suddenly, the American dream seems to be within reach...

What impressions did this first American tour leave to you?
It has been a great adventure for us because, honestly, we hadn't thought to come across such a fervor on the American soil. We were really surprised to find in Canada and in the United States the same energy we see in Europe: all the concert halls were sold out and fans knew all our songs by heart, in English this time!

Is there a concert that impressed you in a special way?

I have really given myself away during the concert in Los Angeles. Obviously because it was our first performance in the United States. And also because artists like Nicole of the Pussycat Dolls or Jay-Z (Beyoncé's husband and Rihanna's producer) were in the concert hall that night. It's still hard to believe (laughs) ...

Have you been affected by bad reviwes published by the American medias?

We are accustomed to the fact that no everyone are into Tokio Hotel, but it's better this way. And then, criticisms are sometimes useful to move forward. Some American medias has ridiculed our music, but others have praised it a lot. A journalist has even compared Bill to David Bowie. Isn't it a wonderful compliment?

Have criticisms ever touched you?

The most important thing for me and for the other band members is that fans appreciate our concerts. We make music for them, not for medias.

Among fans who have been following you since the beginning, there are a few that do not appreciate your Anglo-Saxon evolution...
Bill, Gustav, Georg and I are grown idolizing American rock bands. Singing in English offers us the opportunity to play in the United States, the country of rock par excellence! Where's the problem? In German or in English the story told by each of our songs remains the same, as does the music. I am sure that the audience can understand that. In addition, where the fans ask - in France for example - we continue to sing in German.

Are you at a turning point of your career?

About two years ago we told ourselves that it would never be possible to sing outside Germany. Then France opened its arms. Thanks to France, the rest of Europe immediately called for us. Now it's the turn of Canada and the United States. It's still too early to know where this new adventure will lead us... But the first signs are encouraging. They're enough to make me say that the American dream could be within reach (laughs).

What did you specially appreciate in America?
Since I'm a big hamburgers-consumer, that's heaven for me. Moreover, I loved the hip-pop clothes shops, one more magical than the other. You can find one of them on every corner in Los Angeles and New York. Obviously I took the chance to make a new collection of hats and t-shirts.

On the other hand, what do you not like of America?

Controls at the custom-house are endless and security measures are too strict, specially for someone like me with my dreadlocks and my rapper look. I really had the impression of being mistaken for a dangerous criminal! It's always the same: wherever we go, I'm controlled ten times more than the others.

Are you thinking of moving to the United States?

If circumstances so require, it's not excluded that we'll stay there for a few weeks, or even for some months. The experience could be rewarding even though I would surely have homesickness. I love travelling and discovering new horizons, but wherever I am, I always miss Germany.

ETERNAL SEDUCER
Loyal to his reputation of lover-boy, when Tokio Hotel were in the United States, Tom, that rascal, told journalists that he's looking for an American girlfriend. This piece of information spread among the press. On the list of reasons for this new sentimental option, the young artist said that would be the best way to improve his English...

--------------

GUSTAV SCHAEFER
"Tokio Hotel are my whole life!"

Since the birth of Tokio Hotel, Gustav, the band's drummer, has devoted himself to the "great artistic adventure of his life", according to his precise words. A gifted musician and a perfectionist, "Gus", 19 years old, is determined to take the group to the top.

According to you, what is Tokio Hotel's strong point?

That's a difficult question and it deserves a careful consideration... Several things come to my mind. First of all, the authenticity of our music. Our songs are not fake or mere copies. We have our own distinctive mark. On the other hand, the band has a common history, made of friendship, passion, shared efforts. A 7 years long history that allows us to stay together whatever happens.

Which is the band's feature that makes you more proud?

On stage we get along quite well. Obviously, we still have to improve a lot, but the basis is there. We don't have to be ashamed of our live performances.

What is your biggest fear before getting on stage?
I fear technical problems. I love order and rigour more than anyone else in the band. I hate things that don't go as planned. I confess that things I can't prefigure are my worst nightmare! That's why I never get on stage without having personally supervised the instruments check out, the cables placement and other technical details.

Have you ever faced an upsetting issue?

We have prepared the ground with a great attention to details, but unfortunately a small grain of sand often jams the machine...

Are you referring to a particular episode?
Oh, yes... The break of Tom's guitar strings in mid-concert are nothing compared with the event I'm thinking of. It happened during a concert in France last autumn. I was in the middle of my drum solo when a cameraman perched on a steel girder placed several metres above me suddenly fell at my feet! The organizers rushed to carry him away and give him first aid. However, I had to go on playing. It was surreal! In the end that clumsy man ended up with a simple fracture to the chin.

The prospect of the concert at Parc des Princes must stress you out a lot...

I dare not even think about it (laughs)! However, that appointment will mark the band's history. For the first time in our career we're playing in front of an audience of 45,000 fans.

When will you begin the preparations for this amazing event?
We have been thinking of the project for several months. You can't improvise such a huge concert! We are ready to try on stage a few ideas. We want to give a unique and amazing concert. As soon as Bill has fully recovered, we might move immediately to the operational phase. He must train day in and day out to be worthy of the event.

Apart from music, what project do you wish to realize?

Tokio Hotel's adventure allows me to realize my craziest dreams. At the moment I have no particular project in mind for my life outside the band. It's the same for Bill, Tom and Georg. Currently, Tokio Hotel are my whole life. It'll be awesome if this dream would last again for many years.

DID YOU KNOW?
Gustav has realized a dream! The idea to have beautiful tattoos has been in Tokio Hotel's drummer's mind for some years. His stay in Hawaii last December allowed Gus to realize his old dream. He had himself tattooed a rain of comets on his right forearm and a pair of eagle wings on his two shoulder-blades.

TOKIO HOTEL'S 3:E ALBUM

Tack till Schnee @ THA
Orginaltexten är ifrån den franska tidiningen, Dream up

The third album of Tokio Hotel for this fall?

You can read in the Special Dream'Up Rock (excluding series released today) that the third album of Tokio Hotel to be released this fall.

It is Georg makes us share this information:
"At the moment, I spend most of my time with Tom and Gustav in our recording studio in Hamburg. It works in the composition of new songs for our next album, we test new rhythms. [...]

Bill has already written numerous texts. From our side, we found quite a few ideas of melodies.

The project is on track. In fact, we hope to complete the registration before the end of the year. If we continue to pace our next album will see the same day this fall. "

Well, actually, my father knew already ... But here it is confirmed, and it became almost official!

The only thing unusual is when asked if it will be recorded in German or in English:
"I can not say because for the moment, all options remain possible. No decision has yet been finalized at this point."

Not very difficult to be sure they will do so in two languages ... Bill said repeatedly that they always sing in German. In addition, Tom said earlier in the magazine they know that the fans (french, he says, but it is valid for other countries) prefer to 1000 times their songs the German English translations.
So there is no need to worry about it: this is not because Georg said that he did not know what language it is recorded that album in German is in danger.

The magazine is available in all the usual outlets and on http://www.journaux.fr/. It is very nice and 4 posters (including 3 of Tokio Hotel) are superb! I advise you. ;-)

BRAVO NR 17

Intervju med Georg & Gustav! (Scans påväg)

How do you feel in the current situation?

Georg: At the moment I'm just hoping Bill gets better fast and he'll be fully recovered. I'm really happy the surgery went well, and the healing process is going well too. We're all optimistic and wanna go back rocking as soon as possible.

Gustav: The worries for Bill are dominating. It must be a horrible time for him and I admire how brave he is.

Where are you and what do you do in your forced freetime?

Gustav: I'm with my family and clean my room every day (grins). I'm meeting with old friends and use the time to do all the things I usually can't do.

Georg: I'm with my family too, and get pampered. You know my birthday was recently, and there were a lots of family parties for me. That was great because I finally got to see everyone again. The best present of course was to hear that Bill's surgery went well and he's fine. That was such a relief.

Are you bored now without all the crazyness?

Georg: The first few days I was only sitting in fron of the TV. And to be honest, I wasn't bored at all. But it's slowly starting and I'm ready to work again. I miss our fans, the concerts and just everything.

Gustav: I feel the same, although it's nice to get rest. The tour was going on so well, and it was amazing to drum for the fans every evening. I'm looking forward to start again.

What people do you meet? Did you even had the time to meet some girls?

Georg: I had't seen my family in ages. Otherwise I met all my old friends, went out for some drinks with them - and I can tell ya, I met quiet a few cute girls there.

Gustav: I'm meeting my old friends too, I normally don't have time for them. I even had the chance to renew some friendships. But I didn't have enough time for girls - and you need TIME for girls *laughs*

How do you keep in touch with Bill? Are you writing messages via phone?

Gustav: Of course, every day. I wanna know how he is. At the bigginning we couldn do anything except for writing messages. And as soon as he was better, we were visiting him of course.

Georg: Exactly. But he needed rest at first, and wasn't allowed to laugh. And since there was never a day in the past where Bill wasn't laughing at me, I wanted to give him the rest (laughs).
I can't wait to hear his voice again - it's strange. Tom is the perfect nurse and pampers his little brother.

Were you scared about Bill and the future of Tokio Hotel?

Georg: Of course I was scared. And I also was thinking about what would happen if Bill will never be able to sing again- I do believe though that us four will ever find a way to make music. But we are lucky, and Bill will recover and soon everything will be back to normal again.

Gustav: I was thinking about this at first too, but soon we heard the surgery went well, and I was reliefed and optimistic.

Are you afraid somwting like that could happen again?

Gustav: We hope it was a one-time experience.

Georg: Yes, we hope this will never happen again - especially not to Bill.

What are your plans for the time Bill is in Rehab?

Georg: I'm going to visit Bill, and help him a bit with Rehab (grins) Other than that, I'm going to enjoy the last days at "Hotel Mama".

Gustav: It feels so nice for us to have someone pampering us, even though we're not even sick. The only thing that's going to change now is that Bill can bend our ears on the phone again. And we've waited for that.

Tokio Hotel - Interview Mad in France

It is at the Zenith of Dijon, 2.5 hours before the concert on 11 March that ROCKMAG had a rendezvous to collect the 1st impressions of Tokio Hotel on their return to France. Once passed the service door (delivery entrance), we drive along the tour bus and trucks lined up along the huge building. All at the end of the driveway, across grids, fans queued in torrential rain... The female manager welcomes us and offers us coffee in a small dining room furnished with a table and a low large sofa. Through the open door, we see Bill and Tom at the catering. At the agreed time, Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav arrive and settle in front of the tape recorder.

ROCKMAG: How was your mini-tour in Canadian and American February?

Bill: Very good! We are delighted because we did not think that our concerts would be sold out as quickly. We did not expect such a success from our first steps in North America (a new tour in the USA and Canada is scheduled in April and May).

What differences have you noticed between the American public and the French or German public?
Bill: Our American and Canadian fans speak much better English than we do, that's what we mostly found!
Tom: In the United States and Canada, we played in smaller venues than in Europe. Nevertheless, we felt the same energy. The fans have even sung the lyrics in German. It was great.

The album Scream intended for the American market will it be identical to the English version which we are already familiar with?

Bill: No, there will be differences, some songs less and others more than in the previous version of Scream. Because we will add other songs that we recorded in English as 1000 Meere, for example.

How is your life on the road?
Tom: In general, we have 2 or 3 concerts in succession, then a day off during which we just sleep and eat. Finally, it's on tour that we have as much free time: but on promotion however, we have no time for ourselves. Our last day off was in Luxembourg (March 8). So we ate and slept a lot (laughs)... Me, besides, I humped a lot (laughs), but apart from that, we do really nothing exciting between 2 concerts!

You do not go out?
Tom: No. We prefer to stay in our hotel rooms to sit and relax. When we go out, we can not walk on the streets as you see us there (it is 5 pm, and the group is already fully dressed and rouged ready for the stage). That forces us to dress up, wear hats or capuches to try to go unrecognized. And despite everything, there are always fans that recognize us and who want to take a picture, ask for autographs.

Do you get stage fright before a concert?
Bill: Absolutely. Of course, we have a long experience of many concerts and touring behind us. But the stage fright is still there, before every concert, regardless of the size of the venue or the country where we play. And I do not think that it could disappear over the years. We are always excited before a concert.

What do you do just before going on stage?
Gustav: I am listening to music.
Bill: I read and read again the lyrics; I review the course of the concert. It helps me to concentrate, I am terribly nervous, but the pressure drops off as soon as I am on stage, as I see the audience and that we start the first song: I immediately relax because everything works perfectly and runs very quickly.
Tom: I have no particular recipe against stage fright. Before the concerts, I am just excited and what the hell.
Georg: I do nothing special either. I am just excited, that's it.
Tom: In fact, just before the concert, Georg made his "number two" in the backstage toilet. But it is not effective against his fright, after it he is still as excited until we climb on stage!
Georg: Exactly...

What is your best memory of touring in France?
Tom: The best, that's the fan actions. As at Bercy the day before yesterday, when suddenly, the entire room took out sheets printed with the word DANKE. All these hands and all the same sheets, it was very impressive to see it from the stage!
Bill: Yes, that was really cool when 17000 people participate in the same action at the same time. These are moments like this that we keep in mind. In all the cities where we play, the audience does some surprises of this kind, different each time.

And worst memories of your tour?

Bill: Once on stage, I forgot the text a 2nd time, 1 couplet. For a split second, I felt a vague uncertainty... But like the whole crowd immediately returned to sing with me what I wanted, it has not had any impact, and ultimately I think that nobody has noticed!
Tom: A Rotterdam (March 4), Georg broke a string of his bass and nobody noticed: neither the public nor one of our team!
Georg: Because, as the professional that I am, I fully and immediately adapt my play, in order to circumvent the problem!
Tom: Anyway, as no one has noticed anything, we concluded that we could very well do without our bassist! Anyway, we still keep him, at least for the moment (laughs)!

Gustave has not made the "la ola" at the end of the concert in Bercy on March 9. And immediately, it was read on the Internet that he will leave the band at the end of the tour and will not participate in the next album, which would explain his bad mood on stage...
Gustav: Each concert is different for me. Sometimes, I think of the "la ola", and sometimes not. But I am never in a bad mood! On the contrary, I am basically always in a good mood!
Georg: That is perfectly true...
Bill: We are used to these kinds of rumours! As soon as one of us does a step without the other 3, it was said everywhere he had left the band and that it is the end of Tokio Hotel. These rumours are completely unfounded and we don't think about separation. We have been together for so long now that nothing can separate us soon.

Do you plan something special for the concert at the Parc des Princes?

All together: Yes!
Tom: But we can not give you details. On the one hand it will be a surprise and secondly it is not yet fixed.
Bill: To find out, you have to come, that's it!

You have shifted the date of a day...

Tom: By mail and messages from our fans on the Internet, we learned that the date of June 20th was not convenient for those who pass examinations on that day. The reactions, criticisms, opinions of our fans are very important to us. So, we have postponed the concert at the Parc des Princes to the next day. For technical reasons, it was not necessarily obvious, but finally we were able to do so.

What are your plans after the 1000 Hotels tour?
Tom: The concert at the Parc des Princes will probably be the last one in France this year, because then we will be very busy. First, we are going to return to the United States for concerts and interviews. Afterwards, we want to make a "creative pause" to finalize new tracks on which we are working already. And most importantly, we want to enter as soon as possible in the studio to record our 3rd album, but no date has yet been set.

For the new album, do you continue to work with your 4 producers?
Tom: Our cooperation is very good, so we see no reason to change for the forthcoming album.
Bill: We are like a big family. We agree very well and we want to continue working together.
Tom: Everything continues for the band as in the past. Regarding the new album, nothing has yet been set. There may be differences in musical for example... But we do not know yet, so it is far too early to talk about it.
Gustav: The only thing we can say is that this will be a very good album!
Georg: This will be a very special album, the best of all time!

In the meantime, do you release a new single?
Bill: Heilig (stir around the coffee table...)
Bill: Ouch, I should not have said! It is a bit premature...

A new clip?
Tom: Impossible, we won't have time.

STAR CLUB 27!

Ny intervju !

Proof by 10

They are everywhere in the world, supported by their fans. The Tokio Hotel, that the media had initially mistaken for a fleeting phenomenon, stay permanently in the heart of an entire generation. And, suddenly, they let go! Here, 10-point, the vision of the band...

"No girls in the tour bus!"

1. We want to win everything!
Bill: "EMA, NRJ Music Awards, Goldene Kamera... we welcome every reward that we receive. I know some protest, saying that we are everywhere! But two years ago, we rowed in our city. So all that we can win, it's a gift! We are savouring every moment as if it were the only one..."

2. Screaming girls is fun/great!
Tom: "As soon as we arrive at a concert or at a ceremony, there are girls who scream to greet us. I am proud of the vocal qualities of our fans! They know to create the atmosphere and the event. Thanks to them, it is the riot and that gives us the importance..."

3. Not fooled by photographers...
Bill: "I believe that the worst of the worst in this entire circus are the photographers. When we arrived, they rage. They criticize us, find us not interesting because we are "a band for fashion victims", but there is not one who does not sell his soul to get a photo of us to sell!"
Tom: "They are super-aggressive, screaming at us to pierce the eardrums that we turn to them. And they fight for the best position/spot. I saw elbows shots and guys who were drawn back. It is like being in a schoolyard..."

4. We go to the great Showbiz events to see our fans...
Tom: "In 2007, it has not stopped moving in all directions. This year, it will be the same guide even larger since we passed to conquer America. Well more than meeting other artists or winning prices, we go to all showbiz things to see our fans. Because otherwise, between planes and TV platforms/scenes, we would loose touch with our audience."

5. America, it is still hard to believe...
Bill: "One does not want to make too many illusions about our career in Canada and the United States... Our promo tour has been a success. The venues were complete and it seems that the tickets were sold within a few hours. True, it was not a football stadium but, like all artists, it starts slowly. In France, it was the same. It began with the Trabendo and now we do Bercy, and soon the Parc des Princes. "

6. We are aware of all the rumours!
Bill: "Sometimes, it shocked. But most of the time, it is annoying. I took advantage of our appearance to Goldene Kamera, Germany, in February to make it clear. I said roughly that we are four good reasons not to have children, my brother, who wears too large pants, had twenty five girls the week of the breakthrough of Durch den Monsun, we got drunk and access to all hotels was denied. I recalled that we were also wanted by the army and to escape that, I started my makeup and get me for a gay. And that I had almost died from anorexia. I think the fans who understand German appreciated it..."

7. The girls trap is a thing of journalists.
Tom: "I have never hidden that I loved adventures without routine. But it has been the journalists who have decided that I knew twenty-five girls in recent months. I won't deny it, because that's useless. Either they will say that I am lying, or that I do not stand by it. Anyway, this reputation amuses me more than anything else!"

8. We are reputed to be bigheaded.
Bill: "Not so long ago, we played in clubs for 100 euros per weekend if we were... paid! And we were wondering when we would finally be discovered. Then one day, a producer has signed and when our first clip is broadcasted on TV, we were so crazy that we recorded it. In case it was screened just once! So what we live today is a gift. We take advantage of every second, without forgetting how much we desired it."

9. It is a profession at risk...
Bill: "We love the scene... But sometimes we get things thrown at our heads. As the lights are on us, we do not see the venue, or very little. And sometimes there are missiles that reach us as grenades..."

10. There is a need for privacy.
Tom: "There is a golden rule that we respect all: no girls in the tour bus! First of all, it is too small to receive the world. In addition, it is the time when we end up in a relaxed atmosphere, where we watch DVDs, played on the console and talk. To be together among us is vital. Otherwise, with all the pressure of a tour, we would freak out/go ballistic!"

Looking for the roots of Tokio Hotel: part 2

The internet is full of rumours and most of the Tokio Hotel-haters say it: "Bill is gay!" "Absolutely not true", says one of Bill's childhood friends, Christian. "I'm telling you, it's really NOT true."

Text under picture of Christian:
Childhood friend Christian tells his story...
"Bill is certainly not gay!" (*)
(*) "I saw him kiss way too many girls."

We paid a visit to bar Alex in Magdeburg (you could already read this in our previous issue). While looking for Tokio Hotel, we got to meet Christian Reinhold. At first he didn't really want to talk to us, but when he heard why we were there, he himself came to us. "Ask me whatever you want!"

How do you know Bill?
"I've know Bill & Tom for 14 years now, I think. We went to primary school together, but I wasn't in the same class as them, because I'm older. Afterwards they went to High School, but unfortunately I wasn't smart enough for that. (laughs)"

So you didn't see them anymore after that?
"We saw each other almost every day at the skate park here in Magdeburg. A lot of young people hang out together at that place and the Kaulitz brothers were always there. We've spent countless hours there, skateboarding and stuff."

Were Bill & Tom good skateboarders?
(laughs) "To be honest? Not really. They were nothing compared to me, I must say." (laughs playfully)

But what did they do there then?
"What do you think? Making music of course. While we were skating, Tom was always sitting on this big rock by the river Elbe. He practiced playing his guitar and made songs. Bill on the other hand, was always singing. Very nice, even though it wasn't really my kind of music. At least it was never quiet."

Did everyone back then think they were cool?
"Way cooler than now, to be honest. They don't live here anymore now. Bill & Tom are renting this big apartment together in Hamburg!"

How was their hair in those days?
"Bill's hair was a lot shorter. Tom has had dreads since forever; at least it looks like that."

Do they still come to bar Alex?
"No, now they're famous it's almost impossible. I must say: they are always nice to their fans, but when they walk in here, all hell breaks loose. They can't just come in and drink something in peace, but I think they can't do that anywhere anymore. They are leading a strange life, don't you think? Everything little thing they do, gets blown up. When they get drunk, it's in the newspaper the next day."

Have you ever seen them drunk?
"No, we don't serve alcohol to minors. So they haven't been drunk here."

What did Bill drink here if it wasn't alcohol?
"Bill's regular drink is a Green Vanilla Shake. He drinks that all the time. I'll make you one!"

Cheers, Christian! And finally, you know the rumours and the eternal question. Is Bill gay or not?
"(laughs) I knew you were going to ask that. But believe me, he's not gay. Bill may have a special taste in clothes but that doesn't mean he's gay. Er is nicht schwul! I saw him kiss way too many girls on the bench at the skate park. And believe me, we were there all the time!"
We believe you! Thanks Christian!

Win a cocktail Bill Kaulitz for you and your friends!
Admit it, wouldn't it be great to serve your friends a real cocktail Bill Kaulitz or a Green Vanilla Shake while watching a movie or while having a birthday party?
We couldn't think of anything cooler and that's why we are giving away 5 bottles of the secret ingredient that you can only get in Germany. Now you can make your own delicious, authentic and non-alcoholic cocktail like Bill always drinks at bar Alex! Cheers, ladies!

The recipe
- Requirements
5 cl of Waldmeister Geschmack (You can only get it in Germany and with us at Joepie), 20 cl of Vanilla Milk Shake, 4 big scoops of vanilla ice-cream, 40 cl of milk, 1 package of vanilla sugar, 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

-Preparation
Mix everything together (except the Milk Shake) until you get a nice foam. Pour the 5 cl of Waldmeister Geschmack in the glass. Then put in your mixture and finally the 20 cl of Vanilla Milk Shake.

Serve with a straw or a little spatula to mix the green substance with the rest of your shake.

In Georg's favourite bar
Bar girl Olena Vankouska: "Recently they were all here to grab a bite to eat!"

You won't find the band in bar Alex at the Ulrichplatz in Magdeburg anymore, because it's way too crowded. But where they still come is bar Liebig at the Hasselbacherplatz.
"Of course the boys of Tokio Hotel still come here." says Olena. "They come here often to eat something with the band or with friends. You would be amazed how much the people that come here love them. All the regulars know the guys. But this still is Georg's favourite bar." And we soon find out why. They walls are full of half naked women and this tavern turn into a lounge bar at night. But what we want to know: does Olena serve the boys herself? "Sometimes, but it shouldn't come as a surprise that my 20-year old daughter often beats me to it. When Tokio Hotel comes in here, she's at their table almost immediately. She's a big fan." Has her lovely daughter already kissed one of the boys? "No, that hasn't happened yet." They boys didn't get any alcohol in bar Alex, but what about bar Liebig? "They can drink alcohol here," whispers Olena. "Marino Bianco, to be exact. They all love that." To wrap it up, we also ask Olena THE question. "Bill looks a bit feminine. But I don't think he's gay." She ends her answer with a wink.

Acquaintance Thomas Jentsch
"Very nice guys"
"Actually I should say they are all nice guys," says Thomas. "When they come in here, you immediately notice how popular they are. They have lots of friends here at the bar and they don't act arrogant at all. Therefore, really cool boys."

Joepie-editor Stijn finds Tokio Hotel
After Loitsche, Magdeburg and Wolmirstedt: the meeting!

"Tell the Joepie-readers that we like them very much!"
]After my search through Loitsche, Magdeburg and Wolmirstedt I would have loved to meet the boys to tell them about my experiences. Difficult, it seemed...

Okay, their bars were fun, the school was closed and in their street no one wanted to talk to me. (See previous part of the article.) Until I saw their European agenda when I wanted to drive home. "The boys are playing in Paris tonight?" Magdeburg-Paris: 937 kilometres. (582, 22 miles) It's possible in one long, nightly drive. I decide to go for it, while I'm on the phone non stop. In the early morning when I arrive in Paris, THE phone call comes. "The boys would love to meet you!" I'm so relieved.

The Joepie-readers
A few hours, a lot of coffee and 5 downpours later, it's finally time. In the basement of Paris' Stade de Bercy, I wait for the heroes. In my hands, a little pre-made text: "For all the Joepie-readers" and a marker. "Don't worry about the marker", says the girl of the record company. "Bill and the others have like 5 markers in each pocket. They are used to giving autographs all the time." A few minutes later the boys come in. Bill with his lion mane, Tom with his cool attitude that could make July a winter month, Georg with a rock attitude and Gustav with a raging look in his eyes, but with a cute smile on his face. They recognize me from our previous meetings and the atmosphere is gemütlich (comfortable). I tell them about the message I left in the bus stop at Loitsche and they almost don't believe it when I tell them their friend Christian says hello. My picture with the guys is quickly taken and a little bit later Bill copies my little Dutch text. They all put their autograph under it. (Which will also be on a poster in this magazine next week.) Then we say goodbye, but just before I leave, Bill takes my arm and says: "Tell the Joepie-readers we love all the support they give us. And the concert this summer will be a blast." Then he shakes my hand. Could I have known that right then a really hard time was about to start for him. "Bye Bill", see you soon. Bill smiles, Tom nods. Outside the wind is blowing and a monsoon is raining over Paris.

" According to BILD.de Tom and Bill have moved to Berlin. Bill will have his voice rehabilitation there.
But they'll still have to be in Hamburg to record their Album, cuz it will be produced there.
It's a statement by David again. The reason for the move is that the twins always have lots

Here writes sick Bill

Long days bangten brother Tom (18), the band colleagues Gustav (19) and George (21),
and thousands Tokio hotel, fans around the world for their Bill Kaulitz (18). But now the singer
has his delicate surgery survived well (BRAVO reported). Had 45 minutes of the Tokyo hotel-Star
of specialist doctors at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf surgery. It was a so-called
cyst on the vocal cords removed. "The OP is to plan. Whether they really successful,
you can not even say that. But the doctor is very confident ...", says band manager David Jost.
Because after the surgery bekm Bill ten days speaking, singing and Lach ban! A tough time
for the otherwise happy quasselnden, laughing and singing Magdeburger "You you can not
imagine how difficult it is to keep the lid on," writes Bill now in exclusive letter to the BRAVO readers
 - directly from his sickbed. Because the day after it very frightening surgery, he was allowed to go
home. There, he is now around the clock by his twin brother, Tom maintained (he even cooks
for him - Bill writes to tell it what he wants) - a real help for Bill. Because no other human
being is as close to him as Tom. And thousands wishes of BRAVO readers give him much power
."I want to let you know that I am well," says Bill therefore personally in his letter. "Thank you for
everything - you are truly the best!" But when Bill again will be quite fit, which is still totally unclear.
The first concert is scheduled for 1 May in Washington on the tour schedule, the next official
appointment but is already the major US talk show "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" on 28 April.
But if Bill had not really healthy, these dates are also again cancelled. To get it as quickly as possible
back on its feet, goes after Bill Sprechverbot in a voice rehabilitation. "Gesangstherapeutischen aspects"
will be his golden singing voice and body back quite fit. So really desire, the German international star
while nciht on this training - but to return to be able to sing correctly, he würder do everything. Hardly
for sorting when Bill now would sing a different - or even worse, it could no longer:
"My voice is EVERYTHING for me! Without them and my music, I would no longer be the same Bill."
And finally, no one will. This is the only way to love him all his fans around the world. Now it is therefore
only wait times for all the things to come, fingers crossed, and for Bill plenty of rest: Even listening to
music is not allowed - as a singer in the head melodies often subconsciously sing along.
And sas claimed the vocal cords. BRAVO wishes good improvement ...

Here is the letter:

Dear reader Bravo!

What should I say - I am truly overwhelmed! Your sympathy, your many gifts and encouraging
words gave me the last few days really infinitely easier. Naturally, I fear the surgery, with general
anesthesia and all the trimmings. But Tom was the whole time with me, was a real help.
Hardly, I woke up from the anesthesia, I have my friends and family and our team just a SMS
wrote that I am awake again. And, of course, I would also like you to know that I am well.
The doctors say the surgery was to plan. Details, but we all know, only if the 10 days "vow of silence" over.
You can you not imagine how difficult it is to keep the lid on ...
Not even I can laugh!
As soon as I know, I let you know. Again, thank you for everything - you are truly the best of them -
how do we certainly soon

Your Bill

SVERIGE FÅR INGET NYTT DATUM :'(

Idag .

Mer info -
I talked to a friend of mine (a reporter) just now, and he talked to Anna (I think) at Live Nation
and the concert is cancelled and the reason is that TH does not dare to schedule too many
new concerts with Bill's voice being uncertain. They do not know how many concert he can
sing right now and is afraid of overbooking the summer. However Live nation triers to book a
new Swedish concert but they have to completely cancel the old one. Tickets needs to be returned,
and fans needs to buy new tickets for a new Swedish concert.

NY INTERVJU (TOM,GEORG,GUSTAV)

Exclusive Interview: Tokio Hotel on Bill's Condition and Breaking U.S. Market

April 08, 2008 04:09:51 GMT
by Staff Writer

The latest teen craze and possible future rock icon, Tokio Hotel have sat down to answer our questions that may as well be jotted by their fans. Beside talking about their immediate plan this year, the German band also share some personal stories regarding their tour experience and how they handle their female fans, including how guitarist Tom Kaulitz wishing to reunite with the "beautiful ladies" in U.S..

Drummer Gustav Schafer and bassist Georg Listing also highlight on whose music become their favorites plus reveal how each of them can actually never have one unanimous favorite. Singer Bill Kaulitz unfortunately is not available for the interview since he is in recuperation post a throat surgery and that was exactly the first thing we ask.

ASB: So regarding your canceled tour dates, what really happened at the time, did Bill start losing his voice when you guys performed in France?

Tom: Yes, unfortunately Bill lost his voice after the show in Marseille. The next day he left to see a specialist in Berlin. First he had to rest and after he saw the doctor for the second time it was clear that Bill had to undergo surgery at his vocal chords. He is fine so! He is not allowed to speak and laugh for ten days (laughing) and that's a real hard task for him cause he normally speaks all the time. Now he is writing down everything in a book - that's his way to communicate these days. After the ten days there will be an intense phase of vocal rehabilitation. The doctor is very satisfied with the healing process and is positive that Bill's voice will be the same after the whole therapy. Bill is really glad that he left the surgery behind him. He can't wait to go back on stage and perform!

ASB: For Tom, Georg and Gustav what do you guys do in the meantime?

Georg: We take the time to spend it with our friends and families and relax a little.

Tom: I'm with Bill all the time and support him. And of course we do all the work we can do without Bill at the moment.

ASB: When do you reckon the soonest time to get back on stage in compensation of the axed dates?

Tom: We are very happy cause we just approved a lot of summer festivals all over Europe starting in June. There are also talks concerning earlier dates. (Laughing) There's no doubt: As soon as Bill is allowed he will jump back on stage and we all can't wait to see our fans again. They were so great after we had to cancel shows. They showed so much support and love that we really want to thank them and be back for them as soon as possible.

ASB: Now that "Scream" has hit most part of the world and will soon hit U.S (May 6), what do you expect from the American fans?

Gustav: We just freaked out cause the album hit #6 of the Canadian charts out of the stand!

Tom: Yeah, this is really amazing. We actually can't believe it. With us it's not about expectations. We just hope that our fans do connect to our music and lyrics, that they feel it. (Smiling) I personally hope to be able to spend more time with all these beautiful ladies I saw on our first trip.

ASB: Do you find audience in America as loud as those in your home country?

Tom (laughing): Oh yes! We always say that it would be a nightmare to play in front of an audience that applauses and doesn't scream. We love that excitement. Our fans a very energetic, very intense - they are the best fans in the world. And we were really blown away when we found out that the U.S. fans are showing the same energy. We loved it and we can't wait to come back.

ASB: Have you thought of doing a collaboration with other American band? Which one?

Tom: We haven't done collaboration so far. But as they say: Never say never. But nothing is planned at the moment.

ASB: How do you find time to write in the middle of the tour?

Georg: Writing is an ongoing process. We always find time to sit down with our instruments even on the tour bus.

Tom: Right. Sometimes I have an idea and play it to Georg. Or I go to Bill and ask what he thinks or if he has an idea for a lyric to the music. Or Bill wrote some lyrics we do the music to it. Bill writes all the time anyways. He is always carrying a piece of paper and a pen in case he gets an idea. (Laughing) You should take a look in his book, he's been writing all the time even now. There is no way to stop this guy.

ASB: What do you reckon the next album will be first, a German or an English?

Tom: Well, Bill always wrote in German. It's our native language and the language he can express himself and his feelings the best. (Laughing) And honestly our English is still way too bad to write in English. Even with an English speaking girlfriend, that would help a lot by the way, the songs will be written in German and than translated into English.

ASB: You guys won some prestigious awards like World Music Awards and MTV Europe Awards in 2006 and 2007 respectively, do you have more to expect out there after such recognitions?

Tom: We honestly don't think too much about that. But of course it's great to win an award. Georg: Specially the ones that are voted by the fans.

Tom: Yes, cause it's such a great and intense feedback. But it's not that we sit down and think about which award we could win next. Everything that happened to us so far is more then we ever expected at all. Receiving a World Music Award, being nominated at the MTV European Music Award with all these big and great international artists that have been around for ever, sharing the stage with them that night and finally winning that award - none of us ever even imagined something like this a couple of years ago, when we sat in our rehearsal room in Magdeburg dreaming of a record deal. All we ever wanted is to be able to play live in front of people that like our music. Everything that happened till today already went far beyond our dreams. And it really feels unreal sometimes.

ASB: Tokio Hotel has been on many concerts, do you have special unforgettable moment in one of the concerts?

Tom: That's really hard to pick after we played so many amazing venues and concerts. There's always something going on that's really great (laughing) like the one show were people threw batteries at Georg. He actually loves it, so don't hesitate to keep on doing it.

Georg: Ahhhhhh!

Tom: There are always signs that make us laugh during each show - (laughing) I just wish there would be more signs for Georg.

Georg: Ahhhh! I'm actually glad that I don't get signs saying "Tom, f*** you".

Tom (Laughing): Oh, come on. That was in France and the girl wrote that sign in German. We all know that she wanted to say: "Tom f*** me" and I'm sure you pray for such a sign every night. But to come back to your question, playing in Paris in front of the Eiffel tower in front of over 500.000 people that's was an unforgettable moment for sure.

Everybody: Yes!

Tom: Being able to play three European tours it's unbelievable for us. And getting the chance to go to Canada and the States to play there, finding out that all shows have been sold out - that's still incredible to us and something that is totally unforgettable. That doesn't happen to a German band too often, you know.

ASB: "Don't Jump" music video saw Bill's character falling off the building, do you guys chip in ideas in your videos?

Tom: Yes, we are always involved when it comes to our videos. We always have a ideas in our heads once the songs are written and we throw them in and work it out with the director.

ASB: We've been curious for sometime, which musicians in both your home town and international league that inspire you musically?

Tom (Laughing): You know, Magdeburg, the little town we are from, is not really known as the city that brings out great bands.

Georg (Laughing): No not at all. And it's really not the place were producers and record labels would look automatically for talents to work with and sign.

Tom (Smiling): Yeah, we've been really lucky. But we actually never had an influence in that way cause our personal music taste is so different - we could never agree on ONE artist or band. I mostly listen to German HipHop. Bill loves Nena and he likes Coldplay, Keen, Green Day and Placebo - depending on his mood.

Gustav: I love the Foo Fighters and Metallica.

Georg: I listen a lot to the latest album of Jimmy Eat World and I'm still a big Oasis fan.

Tom: We always wanted to create our own sound, do our own thing. Our music was actually the music we all agreed on. And it came naturally once we started playing in our rehearsal room.

ASB: Last but not least, being a representative of young artists, do you have wise words to share to your fans here on AceShowbiz?

(Everybody laughs!)

Tom (Laughing): Unfortunately you are talking to the wrong people here! We hate people that need to tell you how to do things and how the world is running. We actually think that everybody needs to do his own thing, to find his own way and make his own experiences. That's what we always did. We had our own ideas, we wanted to do our thing our way. People can tell you so much and it will always be different. (Smiling) So if we had to give an advice it would be: do your thing any time and if you are a musician play as much as possible.

Joepie-editor Stijn went to Germany to check all the Tokio Hotel hotspots.
Looking for the "real" Tokio Hotel.

Picture on page 1:
We left a message in the "Tokio Hotel Temple" and signed it with: from all the Joepie-readers. Want to see how we did it: check: www.youtube.com/joepiesfavorieten

checkpoint number 1: Loitsche, Bahnhofstrasse 19

Start
You don't have to drive around far in Loitsche to find out where the Kaulitz Twins lived. The tiny home itself is located in between salt mines. A few metres back, we find what we came here for. A bus stop that is transformed in some kind of temple for the Kaulitz Brothers.
When it's dark, this place has something really creepy. Like you're visiting an ancient temple where virgins were killed and offered to the gods. Well, that's actually what this place is, at least a little. Because all the messages, written by fans with shaking hands, are about music, love, or indeed, sex.

Picture on page 2:
The little home of the Kaulitz family.

The Lourdes (= place of pilgrimage in France) of the Tokio Hotel fan.
Bill and Tom aren't living here anymore, but Loitsche is Tokio Hotel and visa versa. But people who live here don't like to be remembered of that fact. Neighbours are watching us from behind their curtains, but close them immediately when they've been caught.
I feel like an invader, but suddenly my luck seems to have changed. And old man opens the front door of Bahnhofstrasse 19. This has to be grandfather Kaulitz. I call out to him in a friendly way, but when he sees me, he runs back into the house. I ring the bell 5 times, while he's watching me from the window, grinning at me. "Time for some action!" and I go through the open gate and stop right in front of the fence. "This is going to be THE picture I need!"
"Graaau!" A dog appears in front of me and he certainly doesn't want to be photographed.
I get out of there as fast as I can. The animal doesn't go any further than the gate, thank God. He doesn't want to leave his territory. "Disciplin muss sein" (= "There has to be discipline") is also know by the animals here in Germany. But still, this was the animal that has been petted many times by Tom and Bill and was always very nice & friendly to them.

Aka the wolf.
Across the street a scrap merchant opens his gate. I start walking towards him. "No comment" says neighbour Honischteck when I ask him something about the boys. But I don't give up that easily. Eventually he says to have known the boys, but he is sick and tired of all the people coming to their street. He doesn't want to be photographed.
Maybe I'll have a bit more luck at the next house. Herr Arnswald is taking his dog for a walk. "Aka, come here!", he says to the dog. It's a huge sheepdog, his mother must have had an affair with a wolf, I'm sure of it. "The neighbours asked us not to say anything anymore about the boys", this man is still pretty friendly. I try asking again, and it seems like no one wants to be photographed here when I ask it, so I try to take a picture without asking him first. When he sees my camera, he calls "Aka" again. The sweetheart shows his teeth and the hairs on his back stand up. The genes of his father, definitely. I get out of there, again.

Finally
The neighbour that lives on number 15, Herr Kleinau, is willing to talk, but doesn't want his picture taken either. "I've seen Bill and Tom here often", he says. "My wife and I have often laughed when we heard them playing music in the backyard." I've never expected them to become this famous. They're real celebrities, aren't they? Their grandparents are very proud, I can tell you that. But that's all I'm going to say."
Well at least one neighbour told us SOMETHING. While I'm driving away in my car, my thoughts wander to Aka, I might dream about him tonight, about him biting my tongue of.

Stepfather Gordon
I immediately stop my daydreams when a black Landrover stops at number 19. I'm dreaming. A guy steps out of the car, he looks like a Kaulitz. Is this the secret brother of the Twins? A nephew? Then I recognize him. It's Gordon Trümper, their stepfather. His hair is just like Bill's, it's long and he wears a cap. I ask him how the Twins are doing. "Sorry, no time", he says, while closing the gate without going inside. "I would love to answer some questions, but I really don't have time right now", he repeats and gets back into his car. I ask him for his number and take my camera, but he already closed the blinded car window. He just came to the house to close the gate and to keep me out.
Nice, those Germans, they are always fooling you, but they do it politely and with a smile. I decide to give up and drive away.

School pictures
The neighbourhood can breathe again, but I have to gasp for air when I see that I'm almost running out of gas. I really hope that I can get out of the street with what's left! A hundred meters further, I see a huge electricity power station, aha, that's the secret to Bill's hairdo.
Luckily there's also a gas station AND a lady who wants to talk, but again no picture. Maybe those Germans think the flashing box will steal their soul! "All the young people that live here have some kind of connection to Tokio Hotel", she says, when she hears what I'm doing there. "My daughter has been in the same class as them." "Bingo!" Does your daughter have school pictures? "She has them, yes. But you know the twins always looked away in those pictures." I say to her that I want to see those photos. "That won't happen, my daughter's in the hospital, she's seriously ill." I ask her which hospital. Now the woman shows her teeth, maybe she has some kind of "connection" with the wolf from before...
I decide to leave it at that and drive to Magdeburg. The second home of Bill & Tom.

Picture:
We finally found the school pictures!

Checkpoint 2: Magdeburg

Bar Alex
When the brothers talk about Magdeburg, the often say something about bar "Alex" and now I know why. The bar seems to be a mix between a stylish pub and a trendy cocktail bar. Almost nobody wants to tell me something in there. I'm starting to get a bit desperate when suddenly the guy behind the bar starts to talk to me. "Ask whatever you want", he says. "But keep it discreet. I've know the boys for 14 years." The bar guy's name is Christian Reinhold and he has a lot to tell me. And he has to answer to the ultimate Bill question: Schwul oder nicht? (= Gay or not?) and makes me a Green Vanilla Shake, Bill's favourite cocktail.
Another customer tells us something very interesting, right before he leaves. "If you're also interested in the other band members, you have to check out bar "Liebig" at the Hasselbacherplatze. That's Georg's favourite bar." I thank him. Silently, because "tough guys" don't talk about Tokio Hotel in public. That has already become clear to me.

Make your own Bill cocktail?
Next week in our interview with bar guy Christian we'll tell you the recipe AND the secret ingredient of a real cocktail "Bill Kaulitz". We are also giving away 5 bottles of this secret ingredient, exclusively for you. Don't miss the next Joepie!

Pictures:
A Green Vanilla Shake or "a cocktail Bill Kaulitz".
Christian makes the cocktail.
The skate park of Magdeburg.
There's a reason why this bench is located behind that big stone construction.
You'll read all about our talk with Christian in the next Joepie, but we are already telling you one thing: this bench on the picture next to the local skate park knows a lot of Tokio Hotel-secrets. That's all about bar "Alex".

Bar Liebig"What is Georg looking for in such a grungy bar?" That thought pops into my head when I see the lounge bar in front of me. But nothing is what it seems! Inside, the walls are covered with pictures of naked women. Right Georg, now I know you're secret! At the bar I meet Olga and Thomas. Olga has cooked for the boys countless times. And Thomas seems to have drunk quite of few drinks with the boys. I let them tell their stories.
Next week, you'll read all about it in this magazine.

Picture:
THE reason why this is Georg's favourite bar?

Checkpoint 3: Wolmirstedt.

The school
After visiting a lot of bars, it's time for something serious, so I decide to visit the Twin's school. The Kurfürst-Johan-Friedrich-Gymnasium. Unfortunately it's Easter holidays in Germany, so there's nothing to see at the school grounds. Another disaster, the school office was supposed to let me in, they knew I was coming, but nobody was there. I almost want to give up. Until some smell caught my attention. It smells like something is burning on the playground and it doesn't take long for me to find the cause. All the way back, on a field, the school's janitor Michael, is busy making a fire. He greets me with a lot of enthusiasm. "Aha, someone from Belgium! Something to do with Tokio Hotel, right? Man, I've lost count on how many camera crews and journalist have been here. Did I know the Twins? Of course! What I thought of them? Well, they were 2 unoffentliche boys. Do you understand that? They were hard to reach. That's understandable, don't you think? They're the 2 biggest stars we have had here. But now I'm gonna continue working. Everything has to be clean when school starts again!" I nod and we shake hands.
Later that night I shake hands with my hotel manager and ask for "Zimmer 483". "The last room has number 438." He smiles and apologizes. "Doesn't matter", I say.
The first day is over and I still didn't get to see a glimpse of the boys. I turn on the TV and start flipping through the channels until an Asian guy pops onto my screen and I look around the room.
See you tomorrow Tokio Hotel, hopefully!

The only place you can see the gym from.

Disaster for Tokio Hotel.
-Bill needs surgery...
-European tour cancelled...
-But they are playing "Werchter Boutique"!
(Uninteresting piece about Bill's operation (nothing we don't know yet) and that the boys will still play on the Belgian festival "Werchter Boutique".

Next week: Can we find the boys or not?
+ the secret cocktail of Bill AND the ultimate answer to the question: "Is Bill gay or not?"

MEDDELANDE FRÅN BILL :*

Detta meddelande är publicerat på Officiella sidan (www.tokiohotel.de)
och är ifrån Bill ! :-)

HI, IT'S BILL FROM TOKIO HOTEL!
I'm still not allowed to talk but I can write so I thought I would drop you a line here at
TokioHotel.com to let you know how everything is going!

Most of you probably heard that the surgery went well which was a huge relief for me
- I am so happy that it's done and over with now. The doctors tell me that everything will
be fine but we can't be too sure whether my voice will sound the same as before....
but I am confident that everything will be good!

I am so happy when these ten days will be over and I am finally allowed to talk again.
I mean you really have to try to picture not being able to say a single word for ten days.....it's torture!
Georg, Gustav and especially Tom are coming by on a regular basis to visit me which is
great and helps me a lot....Tom is there pretty much 24/7.

Thanks to everyone for all the "get well" wishes - there is so much circulating on the
internet that I could basically read for the ten days straight and wouldn't even be able
to finish reading all the comments. Thanks for your support - you guys really rock!!!!

"I'm going to start gambling professionally - goodbye rock & roll!"

On the eve of conquering the U.S., German teenage pretty-boy rockers Tokio Hotel wager Blender's weak American dollars at the casino.

"Oh mein Gotte! Oh mein Gotte! Oh mein Gotte!" squeals Bill Kaulitz, the 18-year-old glamtastic frontman of German emo-metal-pop band Tokio Hotel. His hands, with fingertips pointing towards the casino ceiling, flap against each other like hummingbird wings, his Sonic the Hedgehog coif is too stiff to keep up with his bobbing head.

It's the final hand of Tokio Hotel's day at a Hamburg casino, where they have decided to ruthlessly gamble the $848 Blender generously provided them. Laid out before Kaulitz are the ace of diamonds and jack of spades. The singer's eyes, lined like a raccoons with --- --- makeup, widen as he lets out a high-pitched "Woooaaahhh! Blackjack!" Gasping for air, he declares through a translator, "I made so much money in such a short time, I'm going to start gambling professionally. Good bye Rock & Roll!"

As Kaulitz and his band members - identical twin and guitarist Tom, bassist Georg Listing, 21, and drummer Gustav Shäfer, 19 - edge away from the gambling table, a swarm of casino employees appear out of nowhere, bearing sheets of paper and pens, faces fixed with hesitant smiles.

The boys, who have sold 6 million CDs and DVDs worldwide and packed arena throughout Europe, are used to the attention. The twins have been performing together since the age of 9. In 2003, two years after forming what became Tokio Hotel, Bill gained his first taste of fame by reaching the quarterfinalists on the German version of Star Search with a precocious rendition of "It's Rainin' Men."

In the controlled environment of the casino, closed off for their personal use, the frenzy that typically envelopes Tokio Hotel (think The Beatles circa 1964 or Backstreet Boys circa 1997) has been expertly headed off - there are vows of secrecy from the staff, vans with blacked out windows and bodyguards who sweep the area before the band's arrival. The security measures are as much for the boys as for their fans. An offstage sighting of Tokio Hotel is likely to make girls' glockenspiels explode. You might be forgiven if you've never heard of Tokio Hotel. They are a phenomenon not easily understood, unless of course you are a 14-year-old girl with a soft spot of androgynous boys and a penchant for learning German. Because of the band, the Goethe-Institut in France can't keep up with the demand for German-language classes. After 5,000 Israeli fans signed a petition for Tokio Hotel to come there, the group flew to Tel Aviv, putting on such a --- show that more than 20 crowd members required medical assistance. In July they played beneath the Eifel Tower and more than 500,000 people showed up. And somewhere twinkling in the heavans, compliments of one zealous fan, is a star named Tokio Hotel.

If their rabid reception in Hollywood and New York - cities where they played three shows in February - is any indication, ther low profile here may soon change. Thousands of hyperventilating girls (some traveling as far as 1000 mile) waited in line, tickets in hand, half a day before the venue doors opened. They further proved their devotion by singing songs, not just the soaring choruses, in the tongue of the fatherland.

(The bands first U.S. album, the all-English Scream, comes out in late April) Clearly, Tokio Hotel's angsty --- - "Together we can make it while the world is crashing down" (Ready, Set, Go!) - connected. The admiration was mutual. "In New York the girls dressed sexy in very short skirts - in minus degrees!" Bill ---. Georg nods his head solemnly, adding "Respect. First Class."

Inspired by the twins' casino-themed 18th birthday last September, Tokio Hotel figured a gambling spree was the best way to blow Blender's dough. Unfortunately, given the exchange rate, we don't have much to offer: "is that all that I'm getting?" Bill squawks after we hand him his ?145 share. "Ok, it's not a big start but I'm going to make ?4000 easily." Georg agrees, "We are in a positive --- when it comes to winning and money."

A few spins at the roulette table later, the twin's strategy of always betting on red isn't paying off. When black comes up for the third time in a row, the both scream "Nein!" "But you must understand," Bill says, his manicured hands aflutter, "I take red because it's the color of love. But now I must choose black, the color of Tom's soul."

When the --- ball lands on 20 black, Tom, who is sticking it out on red, turns philosophical: "Bad luck in playing, good luck in love. It fits me losing because I am very lucky with the ladies." Blender asks his secret: Is it the perfect blonde dreads? The enormous, drooping jeans? "It's like with our success, I just don't know," he shrugs. "It's nothing I ever choose."

After their high-stakes session of Twenty-One and the departure of the autograph seekers, the guys count their chips. Blender finally finds out what they were hoping to buy with their winnings. "A house," Georg offers. "A car," says Gustav. "A house in the sun," Tom adds. "A small island somewhere in the South where it's nice and cozy," Bill chirps. While they didn't win enough for homes, the band hardily beat the house. Everyone came out ahead, raking in a total of more than "two thousand dollars" as Georg puts it in his attempt at English.

After the --- hands over a whopping ?--- ($---- to Tom, the days clear winner, the front man sings "I am the champion!" and beats his chest. Trailing him areGustav with ?---, Bill with ?---, and Georg with ?---. "Georg, you can only buy a tent," teases Bill. "But you can stay in my house....in the closet, with all the cleaning supplies."

Later, at the posh Hotel --- ---, the boys sit in a green room created by their burly bodyguards and celebrate their good fortune with a champagne toast. The staff is atwitter and the guests sneak peaks at Bill. It's time to get to the origin of his goth-goes-glam looks, which inspire heated "is he or isn't he" debates on message boards. (The verdict: only haters think he is.)

"When I was little, I was a vampire for Halloween," says Bill, laughing. "That's when I started wearing make-up and dyeing my hair. Blender retakes that when a co-worker saw a promotional photograph of the singer for the first time, he declared, "She's hot!" Being mistaken for Germany's Next Top Model not only doesn't bother Bill, it inspires the return of the hummingbird wing hand claps.

"Sometimes it tough to be reduced to being just beautiful," he says coyly. "It's all about the music. That's what I tell the other boys - so they don't get too jealous."

E-MAIL INTERVJU MED BILL

E-mail intervju ifrån BILD.de där Bill svarar på frågor efter operationen.

Hamburg - He has survived the worst. Still seven days that "Tokio hotel" singer Bill Kaulitz (18) has not to talk, sing or laugh.

Then begins his voice rehabilitation. Last Sunday, the rock star had surgery to remove a cyst on the left vocal chord (BILD reported).

For the BILD readers, Bill now answered by e-mail the most important questions about his operation.

BILD: Bill, how do you feel?

Bill: "Well, I had better times in my life, but it's ok. I am really glad that it's done now. But I have obviously still fear for my voice and consequential damages. With me, everything is centered on my voice. I really do not have pain. "

BILD: How have you seen the operation?

Bill: "When I got the anesthesia briefly before my surgery, the doctors were already around me and I was totally yellow at the beginning that the anesthesia would not work and that perhaps although they would start to operate me. The idea is not quite so cool that someone is cutting in your throat with you being in full awareness. But shortly after that thought, the anesthetic dose already mad me drift off. "

BILD: How was it afterwards to see your twin brother Tom (18)?
Bill: "When Tom came to see me in the wakeup-room, I still had a giant needle in the arm by drip. As Tom and I both have a total syringes-phobia, it was very difficult for both of us to resist the laughter - unfortunately, I was not allowed to laugh. Besides, I had such an awful white coat and such a wretched green cap on my head. I looked as if I was just arisen out of some damned hospital tv soap/series. "

BILD: What is your day currently?
Bill: "I just, for example, watched the film, Interview with a Vampire. When I do not watch DVD, Tom has all the time for me, because he always immediately knows what I will say. If I get a question, I only need to look briefly at Tom, and then he responds almost exactly what I would have done. Without Tom, I would have probably already tenosynovitis, because of to much writing. "

BILD: How many times do you still have to go to the hospital?
Bill: "I have only a few times to check and then already my voice-rehab starts."

Bill Kaulitz, singer of Tokio Hotel, about damaged vocal cords, the drug called fame and his own funeral.
"Goupie sex disgusts me"

A rule for journalists says that interviewing an 18-years-old is as reasonable as milking a stone. But it's different with Bill Kaulitz. His first kiss or the addiction to fame: the teen star who is often labeled as gay, talks more eloquent than most of the German showbiz veterans. VANITY FAIR met Bill shortly before his surgery and had e-mail contact with him after the surgery.

VF: Mister Kaulitz, how do you feel after the surgery of your vocal cords?
BK: Well, just how you feel after someone shoved a metal rail down your throat while you were under general anesthesia, to cut something off of your vocal cords. Everybody knows this feeling. I'm really glad I'm over and done with this. But I'm still scared about my voice and I feel bad for the canceled concerts.

VF: For how long will you have to rest?
BK: I'm not allowed to speak for 12 days after the surgery. After that I have to do four weeks of rehabilitation. I can't wait for this.

VF: Let's talk about the beginnings. It's said that creativity feeds from the memory of hurt and mortification. What was yours?
BK: The thing that hurt me most was the divorce of my parents. I was seven years old and I didn't understand it. It influenced me a lot. There's a song about it on our first album. It's called "Gegen meinen Willen".

VF: We know that your stepfather Gordon Trümper is a guitar teacher. What is your biological father doing?
BK: He's a truck driver and lives in Hanover.

VF: When you were 8 years old, your family moved from Magdeburg to Loitsche, where only 700 people live. How did you experience this move?
BK: I felt terrible, because I'm not a country-type at all. You can imagine how Tom and I stood out. They looked at us like we were some aliens who are completely nuts. School was terrible too. I had to get up at half past five every morning, to catch the bus to Wolmirstedt, and wasn't home before half past four. How I hated this! And always the same faces at school. It was the worst time of my life.

VF: How did the teachers react to the brothers Kaulitz?
BK: Tom and I were always together until 7th grade. Then we were parted as punishment. It was a real slap in the face which really influenced us. Until then we did everything together. We're identical twins and really close. Of course we fought the disciplinary transfer, but the teachers said that they wouldn't be able to stand up to us because we were both bigmouths. I wasn't somebody who raised his finger and then talked in a hushed voice. I always shouted. My mum was called to school every second day.

VF: It was your specialty to appeal class tests if those weren't given back to you in due time. Where did you get this know-how from?
BK: I always knew that I don't need the school, because I'd be a singer. Because the teachers annoyed me to no end, I studied my rights. I knew what they were allowed to do and what not. I sometimes had a teacher that was completely awful. Some of them didn't want to say "Good day" to me because my hair was styled up and my fingernails were painted black. They said that I couldn't go to school like that. One of them didn't want to teach me because I look like I look. He said things like "Your head isn't only for nice hair." I was an anti-pupil and did not put up with any of this.

VF: How were your marks?
BK: Great. I always had a grade point average of 1,8. That's what annoyed the teachers most.

VF: Were the teachers able to hurt you?
BK: Not at all. I wasn't a sick freak, chewing on my nails. I was very self-confident. I went to school like this because I knew everyone would look and the teachers would talk about it. I enjoyed this. I wanted to attract attention with my styling. The people were supposed to talk about me.

VF: A short time ago, you finished secondary school via correspondence school. How important is it to be able to differ omelette from Hamlet?
BK: Well, one should be able to tell the difference. But the school system is too less individual. Why should I study maths when I know that I will never ever need it again in my life? I dropped music in 8th grade. Everyone was dumbfounded. But we only learned the CVs of some people by heart - zero inspiration. I always got bad grades for singing because we had to warble folk songs. It was horror!

VF: Does the old cliché, that music was the ticket to escape the melancholy of the province, apply to you?
BK: Yes. I always thought: I just have to get away from this jerkwater town, where everyone knows everyone! The worst thing for me is everyday life. I hate everyday life. That's why Tokio Hotel is the right thing for me. Every day is different: new cities, new people.

VF: Thanks to paparazzi and so-called reader reporter, you're now on a watch 24/7. Is this impertinence or completion?
BK: When I was a little boy, I always imagined how everything I do is being recorded by cameras and how this is going out to the world. I wanted boundless attention. Now I achieved it. How can I be annoyed by this?

VF: Will someone ever be as important to you as Tom is?
BK: No. It tops everything. I couldn't imagine a life without Tom. One can't describe how close we are to each other. It's something extrasensory. We often have the same thoughts and dream the same things. We actually don't have to talk to each other anymore.

VF: Many identical twins sense their symbiosis as a torture and provide murderous sceneries.
BK: We argue of course. And if we have an argument, it's bad. We attack each other and punch each other. One year ago we attacked each other with chairs in a hotel room. But we don't bear a grudge. We slam the doors, one of us disappears and ten minutes later we talk to each other again.

VF: Who's closer to you: the natural Bill or the painted one?
BK: Definitely the painted one. the natural Bill is like a masquerade to me. I would also walk around like this if I wouldn't be famous. It totally belongs to me.

VF: Who sees you in your original state?
BK: My family. And that's it.

VF: Famous kids are the most corruptive species of artists, because they destroy themselves the older they get. Will you perform a fall from time to time, to keep your image interesting?
BK: It's definitely good to show that you're not perfect. But I don't stress about this. To plan something like that so that your fans don't run away, is bad. What I hated from the beginning, were older bands or some people of record labels who wanted to explain to me how this works. There's no such thing as advice! In our first meethings with the record label, they wanted to give us a stylist who was supposed to work on our appearance. I still don't have a stylist who tells me what to wear. It would constrict me. We also decide about every concert and every contract by ourselves, because I think it's really bad not to be self-determined.

VF: Who is allowed to say no to you?
BK: Job-related: no one. Neither the management nor the record label. The only ones I'm still listening to are my best friends and my family. My mum can tell me: "Bill, that's sick!" and I'd think about it.

VF: Do your parents still try to parent you?
BK: I have to say, our mum never really did this. Doing homework was optional. She left us free space but always watched over us. There's a huge confidence between us. We are like friends. There's really nothing I wouldn't tell my mum. And I never had a secret she didn't know about. When I came home drunk for the first time, she said what she thought about it, but I didn't need to be afraid of her.

VF: Does your mum ask you to leave your hair at least on chistmas alone?
BK: No. She really doesn't care. I colored my hair for the first time when I was 9 years old. They were alternating between green, blue, white and black. I got my eyebrow piercing when I was 13. She was really laid-back.

VF: About 200 female teenager collapse from ecstasy during your concerts, they hold up posters with slogans like "Fuck me through the monsoon". How does it feel to know that millions of girls project their sprouting sexual fantasies onto you?
BK: I don't think about it much, to be honest. Sometimes we look at each other and have to laugh because we just can't imagine that someone has one of our posters on their walls. But I always thought it would be cool to hang at someones wall. In the past, I often sat in my room, thinking about what my idol Nena is doing, where she is and what she's thinking. I can't quite believe that other people now sit in their rooms and think about me. To me, I'm so normal, we are so unspecial to each other. We are oblivious to ourselves.

VF: How often do you think about yourself in third person?
BK: Sometimes. But accidentally. When I'm unmotivated to do something, I think: Bill should do it nonetheless, because it's good for the band.

VF: Your aplomb appearance in public appears to be eldrich for some people. Is there a difference between the character Bill and the real Bill?
BK: You keep some things to yourself. But apart from that, there are no great differences perforce. The last three years were a run without break. There wasn't a cut when you arrived somewhere and had some private time. Even on tour we had cameras all around us, 24 hours a day. How can you experience something that not everyone knows about only a few hours later? But that's what I always wanted. Thus I have to cope with it.

VF: Those we envy rarely feel enviable. What's the most annoying about being Bill?
BK: The main problem of people like me is to trust. It's hard for me to believe someone and let myself go. During the past years I didn't make any new friends and I didn't fall in love. When I meet someone, I'm really careful and skeptic and ask myself: What's behind this? One unfortunately often meets people who turn out to be weird or tell something to the press. If I wouldn't be this famous, I would have probably fallen in love with someone I know a long time ago.

VF: Who betrayed your trust the worst?
BK: I never let myself go so far that someone would have been able to do that. I wear a shield. To go out and get to know someone without telling someone beforehand is the biggest thing you have to forgo. Still, my current life is what I always wanted.

VF: Is the problem of trust the reason why stars often hook up with stars?
BK: Yes. Angelina Jolie doesn't have to worry that Brad Pitt only uses her for becoming famous. A celebrity prefers someone who has the same life and is into this lifestyle as well. My girlfriends never understood why I went to our rehearsal room right after school and why I preferred to perform in clubs at the weekend, instead of sitting in front of the TV with them. Of course it's so much more difficult today. Who wants to live this life with you? And of course the person would also have to understand that you can't just get out of this life.

VF: When were you last in love?
BK: Three and a half years ago. I haven't found the one big love. I don't think everbody finds it. And if so, only once. In my situation, I would need much luck to find it.

VF: With 18 years, don't you prefer to make out endlessly anyway?
BK: I don't know. Precisely because of this life I would prefer to find the one big love instead of making out. I want to share my little time with someone I know about: This is the one!

VF: Did you already say "I love you" to a girl?
BK: Yes. But I didn't mean it. I should have said "I like you." The older I get, the more serious I take those differences. Tom probably always says "I love you" to a girl to get her into bed.

VF: Do you compete for the same girls?
BK: We like the same type. And our girlfriends were always friends with each other. It was godawful, cause they did always gang up on us. Our first kiss happened with the same girl. Tom was first. The day after that, she started kissing me. Then we were both over and done with it. Oh god, we thought it was shit - as awful as the first kiss is.

VF: How old were you back then?
BK: Eleven. She was three years older and experienced.

VF: When had Tom his first sex?
BK: He was 14, if I remember correctly.

VF: It's said that Tom goes through women like there's no tomorrow.
BK: I let him do whatever he wants. That he has the nerve to get someone else every night. I wouldn't fancy this. But we were always different when it came to that.

VF: Your colleague Robbie Williams once told us that there are two kinds of groupies in Germany. One kind wants to take a photo during the sex to have a proof to show their friends. The other kind would ask "Robbie, are you sure your feelings for me are real?" during the sex.
BK: Tom also tells me this. Since we're on the road so much, I didn't take anyone to my bed. It disgusts me, to have someone I don't even know in my bed every night. I didn't reach this point yet. I wouldn't have the confidence to take a girl up to my room for one night. The only private thing you have while on tour, is your hotel room. And to let someone sleep there for one night - no, I'd be really skeptic.

VF: Did you already have sex?
BK: I want this to be my secret.

VF: Does it surprise you that some people think you're gay?
BK: Not at all. Most of them have this cliché way of thinking: make-up plus styled hair equals gay. I wanted to set this statement, that this is not the case. Everyone can do what he wants. One thing doesn't necessarily have to do with the other.

VF: What would you do if you were a girl for one day?
BK: I'd definitely not hook up with my brother.

VF: But?
BK: Oh my god, what would I do? Probably the same as I do now, cause I don't tell it apart.

VF: What would you like to forbid girls?
BK: Not being jealous, because jealousy is very important. When I'm in love I immediately claim everything and don't let go anymore. It would drive me crazy if my girlfriend would tell me: "Bill, I don't care about all those screaming girls. I totally trust you."

VF: Were you ever deceived?
BK: No. I also never deceived someone. Faithfulness is the most important thing for me.

VF: How did you annoy your girlfriends?
BK: I speak really loud. The whole day. And always with hands and feet. And I never let people talk. Everyone's annoyed by that.

VF: Which is harder: loving someone else or loving oneself?
BK: Oneself. It's really hard to stand by everything you are. There are incredibly many moments in which I'm insecure and would love to dig a hole to crawl in, pull a blanket over myself and stay there for a year. Sometimes I'm glad we're in this rush and have one concert after the other, this way you don't have time to think much. You just don't have time for loneliness.

VF: Can you still live without a celeb-sitter?
BK: I can't just go to the bakery. So of course someone else does this. But I'm still suitable for daily use, because my problem is that I'm incredibly perfectionist. I can't let other people do things. It's abnormal - and gets worse. Everything has to be fixed into detail, cause I need to know exactly what's coming up. Or else I go crazy. Tom's also this stressed out. Although we pay so many people to relieve us of some things. But we created all this, so it's hard for us when other people lay hand on Tokio Hotel.

VF: Do you also control your finances yourself?
BK: Yes. I already did this when I was 13. I have access to all accounts and control this just like I control my career.

VF: Do you know how many millions you've got?
A woman with clipboard from the record label shouts from the background: "No talk about money!"

VF: When will you buy your parents a villa?
BK: As soon as I can afford it. I definitely want to live together with my parents. We're so close, I wouldn't think of it being a strain. There are no limits where I'd say: "Oh my god, now please go out."

VF: Let's assume that you'll be kidnapped. What would be a reasonable amount for a ransom?
BK: As much as all my friends could get together. Of course they should get their money back in the end.

VF: What do you think about the fall of Britney Spears?
BK: I can understand how something like that can happen, because I live the same life. Other people probably think: "She has money, she achieved everything, why doesn't she just relax?" I couldn't imagine myself being a solo artist and to be alone on the road all the time. I don't trust myself to carry this huge pressure alone.

VF: Madonna said in 1991: "I will only be happy when I'm as famous as god." Are you congenial?
BK: Of course it's a funny statement. But I can totally understand it, cause there's no stop. You don't just say: "Well, now I'm famous in Germany and that's enough." You aspire to be everywhere as succesful as possible. Even if I'd be immensely wealthy and would own my own island, I'd still go on. It's right: Fame is a drug. The detox would be a blow, I would hardly be able to handle.

VF: If drugs weren't illegal: which would you like to try?
BK: Something relaxing that leads to me not needing to control everything anymore.

VF: Are you a star in your dreams?
BK: I once had a nightmare: I lie in bed, in a room made of glass and all around me are photographers, who take tons of pictures of me. I say to our team: "Shit, shit, can't you just get them out of here?" But one guy says: "No, I can't do that. You've got an appointment and you overslept." But I never missed an appointment. I always have three alarm clocks, so that I don't oversleep. And I'm never unpunctual.

VF: Why did no one ever see you dance?
BK: I never dance. I just sit in the corner - unless I'm really drunk. I do it then. I think, dancing is a girls-thing. Even though is might sound chavvy: Only girls have to dance everywhere.

VF: Do you somethimes think about your own funeral?
BK: I have to say: Yes. My friends, who are the same age as me, also think about it. You imagine who would be there and who would really cry for you.

VF: Which music should be played at your burial?
BK: "Magic Dance" of David Bowie from the movie "Labyrinth". It's a really funny song and "Labyrinth" is a movie from my childhood and I still love it to pieces.

VF: What will you wear in your coffin?
BK: I wear everything black and a leather jacket. My last will would definitley be that my hair is styled. I'll hopefully have enough hair left. If not, someone should definitely put a wig on my head.

-------------------

Bill: Laryngeal-surgery
The end of Tokio Hotel?

Shock for the fans! Bill of Tokio Hotel have to be operated on the vocal cords! Exclusive in BRAVO is the singer talking about this drama!

It is probably the worst thing what for a singer can ever happen: He stands on the stage - and suddenly the voice break down! The truely horror became for Bill Kaulitz (18) of Tokio Hotel on the concert in Marseille / France for reality!
Bill fought, but there was no sound anymore - the show had to be aborted! "I stood on the stage and had suddenly hardly a voice. I didn't know what happened!", reveals the singer in the exclusive BRAVO-Interview. His twin brother Tom supplemented: "Bill stood with tears in his eyes in front of me. He was totally in despair! I've made myself serious worries!"
It was a big shock for the fans - and a even bigger shock for Bill! He was directly brought to the doctor. Diagnosis: a zyst on the vocal cords. Bill have to be operated soon, isn't allowed to sing for the next time! A total of 16 concerts had been cancelled!
Especially tragic for the german fans: Also the only german concert date in Dortmund was cancelled. A big disappointment for the many fans, who have been camping there since days. Bills surgery is necessary, but also dangerous for his voice! Will he ever sing like before the surgery? And how does it go on with Tokio Hotel?
Exclusive in BRAVO is Bill speaking about his fears and hopes!

BRAVO: How do you feel now?
BILL: I don't feel very well. I have fear because of the surgery and make myself big reproaches , that I've disappointed the fans. I'm totally sorry to all those, who ware sad now...
BRAVO: What kind of illnes do you have exactly - and which ailments does it take with it?
BILL: Oh, I do have heard so much technical terms .. But in my own words, easy and understandable expressed, it is an swelling on the vocal cords. Because of this swelling, the vocal cords are not able to vibrate evenly anymore. So that I can really sing again, it needs to be removed!
BRAVO: What exactly will be done on the surgery?
BILL: I don't really want to think about this! I just can say: It's totally disgusting! The doctors will slide, for me under general anesthesia, a metal rail into the mouth to operate my vocal cords. They will cut then away the swelling. This isn't a simple surgery - the surgery takes circa an hour can only carried out by an specialist. I do really have fear because of the surgery. But it have to be done. And the quicker I have it behind me, the sooner I can be back on stage!
BRAVO: What would happen, if you wouldn't get operated?
BILL: the doctors said, that the voice can be permanently damaged - and I could also lost my voice.
BRAVO: Do you have fear because of your voice?
BILL: Yes, of course! My voice is EVERYTHING for me! Without my voice and my music, I would no longer be the same Bill!
BRAVO: How long will it take before you can sing again?
BILL: That comes to the healing process. It's is different from person to person. Normally several weeks break. After the surgery I have to rest myself extremely. At least ten days I'm not allowed to talk. Then are following daily follow-up examinations and voice training - so to speak a rehab. The voice must be re-trained every day.
BRAVO: Does this drama initiate, or does it came sudden?
BILL: I don't know it exactly. It isn't directly associated with pain. It was discovered during the tour when I've had an infection.
BRAVO: What have you let done about you so far?
BILL: When I was back in Germany, I was driving from the one specialist to the next. We wanted to be in the diagnosis quite sure and accurate. Until now I have daily doctor visits, unpleasant inquiries, syringes and drugs behind me. I thin this will go one in the next time...
BRAVO: Wo cares now about you?
BILL: Actually, all for me. Tommy is already there for me, Georg and Gustav are also visiting me very often. With the doctors, I am in constant contact. And the family, friends and our entire team are of course also for me there.
BRAVO: The only german concert in Dortmund had to be cancelled - just like the rest of the European tour. Will it be sometime later?
BILL: It isn't clear yet! But we hope so!
BRAVO: How can take care about your voice in the future, so that this will never happen again?
BILL: This doesn't work. I'm using my voice of course more than the others, because of this, is the injury risc by msyelf higher. I really take care about my voice. I even have had singing lessons in the past! I didn't like it, but before each show, I'm doing singing exercises, singing me warm. But this can ever happen again. Surely I will learn at the after treatment some more specific training methods which I should use...
BRAVO: Have you simply too much expected?
BILL: We were very much on the road - the first shows in the United States, then the tour samples and the tour start. That was probably too much for my voice. I'm a perfectionist and wants to give always the best. I always challenge myself anew, just want, that every show will be perfect and maybe I ignore the signs of a common cold, because I don't want to see them!
BRAVO: How did the other guys react when they realized that your voice is no longer playing?
BILL: They have all made themselves big worries. They didn't know as much as I had known, how it will go on. And we were waiting all together for the first feedback from the doctor. We were all totally in the air.
BRAVO: How many concerts have to be cancelled because of this now?
BILL: All after Lisbon. This is in total 16 concerts. A real disaster!
BRAVO: Is now the entire tour including the United States at risk?
BILL: We can't say that at the moment! We know that maybe in a few weeks!
BRAVO: Are the concert organizers and fans angry now?
BILL: I had to accept this first, that the illness wasn't my fault. This was really difficult for me, and I made myself very big reproaches! The organizers are not angry, but all are of course disappointed! We were so much happy to tour through Europe! I received so much letters from our fans. All are wishing me, that everything will be very fast okay! It does me good and helps me a lot! I thank them very sincerely, that they are supporting me also in that bad time. I can't say often enough, that I am extremely sorry, how everything has come. And I hope that the fans are not disappointed. I would immediately change if I could! I hope, that we can make everything okay in summer, at our festival tour...

INTERVJU MED BILL I VANITY FAIR

Omg, just nu vet jag inte ens om jag kan skriva längre . . i nästa nummer

Hi, it's Bill from Tokio Hotel!

"Just wanted to say "Hi" to all our Canadian fans - everything is a little chaotic these days since I had to have surgery on Sunday to get my vocal chords back in shape. Luckily, everything has gone well so far...what a relief! I am not allowed to talk for the next ten days and after that I have to start training my voice again.

It's definitely a tough time but I am getting so much support from all you fans out there, also the other three band members are coming by on a regular basis to check on me. Tom is especially there for me...practically 24/7.

I just wanted to let you know that I am really sorry that we had to postpone our Canadian concert dates but I can promise you that we are trying to catch up on them as soon as possible. Stay tuned and I hope to see you all soon!!! Oh yeah, thanks to everyone who got our brand new album Scream that was released last Tuesday in Canada - it's amazing to have the best fans EVER! Keep on rocking and take care!"

POOR BILLIE :(

Stackars Bill, inte nog med att han inte får prata eller skratta på 10 dagar
han får inte heller lyssna på musik, infon kommer ifrån en artikel som
postades i Hamburger Abendblatt idag.

"until then, Bill must not say a word, he must not laugh and he's also
not allowed to listen to music since especially as a singer, you're tempted
to think the notes in your head and even that is putting pressure on the vocal chords."

usch, själv skulle jag aldrig klara mig så länge utan musik, det hade
vart riktigt hemskt . . och tyst xD

ROCK ONE : INTERVJU

Journalist: Your last vacation was a bit special for you, we had the impression that you
really needed a rest at the end of last year...

Bill: Yes, you can say so! Our only holidays, it's always at the end of the year somehow.
And, this year in particular, we were really looking forward to be there to reduce the stress of everything that is around us permanently, as soon as you move a finger.
We also wanted to relax, breath fresh air.
That's why we went very far, to the islands in the sun.
You are right we really needed to take a step back because we were beginning to feel tired of our band life.
Especially during the recent interviews, where we sometimes had the feeling of repeating ourselves, of being off topic because of too much accumulated fatigue.
Therefore, we have benefited at maximum of our last vacation lazing around in the sun.

However, it is rare enough to see you complain. Do you still enjoy your band life as much?

Bill: For us, it remains a life of dream.
You know, it is difficult to say no because we are very ambitious, and the band is always foremost.
As you have seen we need to be really at our limit before we feel the ultimate need to have vacation.
Anyway, even during vacation, we think of the band!
It is a crazy gimmick!
We get up every day for it, to play on stage and to be successful.
This means, when there is one among us who comes and says 'Hey, guys, I really can not stand it any longer', we know that this is not pretence, he tells the truth and really needs it.
That has been somewhat the case when it was necessary to cancel some concert dates last year, because my voice had suddenly vanished and that I did not really feel in shape to face the public.

Is it just on holidays that you realise that the band is like a drug for you?

Tom: The first vacation days are always the best.
Obviously, if it takes too long, we end up being bored because band life is always in our heads.
We do not relax we tell ourselves that we want to go on the road and be on stage again.
Especially this year, because our holidays have been short.
We knew that everything was going to start again very quickly, with the next tour approaching.
Anyway, two weeks of vacation, it's not so long.
Except that for us, we do not associate Tokio Hotel with work to do, even if it is a lot of work.

On holiday, you find back to a little more "normal" life. Do you sometimes have the nostalgia of your beginnings, a time when you did not have a public life?

Bill: No, because I have always been attracted by the success, by the lifes of stars.
That's precisely why I wanted to make music.
I found it horrible when I was still in school, having to get up every day at the same time and always to see the same people, be in the same places.
That live is awful I really wanted to get out of an everyday live which had tended to depress me.
I found this shelter in the music, this creative space where I could express myself, travel and break out with my childhood buddies.
That is why I am so happy to do this work, to see different things every day to travel on every continent and have such an exciting life.
You know, I do not feel nostalgia vis-à-vis my early childhood, when my school was difficult to live with on everyday.

What is your ambition by playing in the USA?

Bill: You can't even imagine what's happening in our heads when we think of these concerts Americans.
It's still one part of a dream come true ... We are aware that this will not mean to have taken the cake (/have a finger in the pie??? *not sure*).

Tom: Obviously, we would have nothing against becoming even bigger and famous in the USA and Europe, but it has already reached the peak that was not even in our wildest dreams, especially in France where our success is unbelievable.
For the US, we do not have a specific strategy, we are already very grateful for our current success here.
You see, there was no plan to dominate the world, even if it would please Georg well.

Georg: you do not lose anything to wait!

Your American dream is it going beyond the music?

Bill: We would like to spend 24 hours in the Playboy Mansion (the mansion of Hugh Hefner, the Playboy boss, edit. note), even if only us three because Tom already has its own plans.
More seriously, in private, we have already visited several major cities of the United States like Los Angeles or New York.
That are fascinating cities, discovering new ones will be super exciting.
We await it eagerly to be there!

Your greatest fantasy, it's nevertheless what you are going to achieve in PDP (Parc des Princes, Paris)?

Tom: That is going to be incredible, it will be the greatest concert that we have ever given, and we are really pleased to be there, even if it's in six months.
At the moment, we are preparing the stage, and only by thinking of it you have butterflies in the stomach. Believe me, it's going to be brilliant!

Can you tell us a little more?

Bill: There will be something new, even for us.
But to view it, you must buy a ticket, before you are going to know more.
Frankly, at this moment we are only at stage of ideas because it is not long ago that this concert is announced.
Therefore, it is unclear whether we can do anything we want to create.
It is a bit too early to talk about it accurately, we would tell you silly things and the fans would be disappointed.

Regarding disappointed fans, do the reproaches touch you?

Bill: I do not know what you mean ...

Tom: We are sorry for our very first fans if they can no longer approach us as before, but we can not do anything about it.
It is a question of time and availability.
We are sincerely sorry to disappoint some of our fans, but I think most of them show us the opposite, given the number of people attending our concert or in front of our hotels.

Bill: Our fans in France are the dearest ones in our eyes. It is clear that we would like to share more things with you, especially with our first fans.
But, as a band, we are compelled to move up and follow a program.
Anyway, we/one still have plenty of things to discover, either with our first fans, or those who discover us later on.
We want everyone to be happy with us.

NYA TURNEDATUM KOMMER SNART!

NYTT BLOGGINLÄGG PÅ ALLOY ! :)

Även denna gången är det Tom som bloggar, och jag tycker det är
väldigt fint skrivet av honom :')

Hi everyone, it's Tom again!
As most of you've probably heard, we had to cancel the rest of our "1000 Hotels European Tour" because Bill is having major problems with his vocal chords and has to undergo surgery. Having to do that has been a big let down for all of us -- especially for Bill. We are all back in Germany, and of course, I returned directly with Bill to support him and be there if he needs me.

Bill has to see the doctor several times per day, but be assured he has the best doctors in Germany. We are talking about so many things these days 'cause all of this is really scary. But most of all we feel so sorry that we had to disappoint you guys with cancelling the rest of the tour. We feel like we let everybody down. Bill especially feels really bad about this, and I try to reassure him that it's nobody's fault.

So me and the boys want you to know that we're doing everything we can to get back on stage and see you all as soon as possible....that'll be soooo awesome! We hope it won't take too long. Thanks for all the "get well" wishes you guys have been sending us -- it's amazing to get such great support from all our fans out there. Take care and thanks again for your unbelievable support! Oh yeah, feel free to leave a comment here...Bill will check them out as soon as he feels a little better.

Whether the OI it succeeded however really in such a way that Bills voice sounds exactly the same like before ", one cannot say unfortunately yet."

INTERVJUN MED TOM (BILD.DE)

How does it feel like to be at home for such a long time without a break?
We've been on the road for years and suddenly you're at home all day long. It is a drastic change. You're falling into a hole and suddenly you miss being on the road. And Bill misses being able to sing. Bill is not only singing on stage and in the studio; usually he is singing the whole day at home. No wonder his voice is stricken. Now he is quiet - I think the silence is comfortable.

Is Bill in pain? How are you cheering him up?
Well, I think he's not in pain. Well, and if he were, he couldn't complain anyway because he has no voice. Usually Bill is talking non-stop, this can really get on your nerves. At the moment I have the most relaxed time of my whole life. If someone is talking, it is me. And Bill can't do anything against it. That is great. Yesterday he wrote "Shut your f***in' mouth!" with his eyeliner on a sheet of paper. If I'm getting on Bill's nerves he holds up this note.

Will you go with Bill to the hospital? How long does he have to stay?
Bill wants to stay in the hospital as short as possible. Likely, he can't stand to stay there longer than 1-2 days. I'm going with him and stay by his side the whole time, for sure. Our family, the closest friends, Georg and Gustav and our crew will visit him too, of course.

What are your drummer Gustav and your bassist Georg doing at the moment?
Well, for them it will be like always. What are they supposed to do? They are doing nothing, like always *lol* Georg is likely playing with himself (AN: he means that he is masturbating) the whole day, as always and Gustav is riding his bycicle.

Nah, to be honest, I think we're all the same. Because of this forced break we can calm down. Maybe this is not so bad.
Are you scared that "Tokio Hotel" won't sound the same after the surgery? Is Bill scared that his voice will be higher or deeper after the surgery?
To be honest we really are fucking scared. Both of us. If so, Bill already gave me signs that I have to sing. Well, Phil Collins also was a drummer before he started singing.
So you have an emergency plan. Your fans are also very concerned. There are a lot of presents for Bill, aren't there?
It is really incredible and absolutely cute what the fans are doing. Bill is getting showered with fan-presents at the moment. Most of them got inspired by Bill's throat. He is perfectly equipped for the next skiing trip. He got a lot of scarves and shawls. And we can also open an apothecary. Countless of drops, multi-vitamin pills, vitmaine C, zinc and also many homeopathic like stuff which will make your immune system more stabile. If you take it all at once you maybe have a very nice trip.
